With keen eyes, a vivacious tui checks us out as he perches on a pohutukawa tree that is starting to bloom. Many super-subtle layers have been layered up to create the luster and different hues evident within his plummage. The technique that I use is similar to that used with oil paint glazes and it creates a richness and depth to the colours that would not be possible otherwise.

He is a unique work that is will not be reproduced in anyway. He is signed and dated on the side to the canvas
